This week, I've had the honor and good fortune to be featured on Anne LaFollette’s blog and to be interviewed in her weekly live broadcast to her community #annesuniverse! Anne is my art business mentor and she has taught me lots about both running a creative business and how to create repeating patterns for surface pattern design (such as fabric and home décor).

How I entered #annesuniverse

I came across Anne’s "Doodle to Dollars" program through a FB ad and I was intrigued. Creating repeating patterns? For fabric and wrapping paper and all kinds of home décor? How do I do that? What exactly is a repeating pattern? I was hooked! Anne teaches in such a direct and easy to understand way. I signed up for her "Pattern Design Academy" signature course to learn even more. I can confidently create patterns thanks to Anne.  I even have fabric with my own designs on them. 😁

The interview was great fun! I was nervous but Anne is such a pro at interviewing she kept us moving right along. Have you been interviewed live online before? It is both exciting and nerve-wracking! 

The importance of having a mentor

I have been working on my art career for years now and having a mentor has been a game changer. This year I joined Anne’s "Creative Business Mastermind". Being part of her mastermind has helped me to "get it done!".  With the help of such a talented mentor, I've set and accomplished my goals. Most importantly, I completed and hosted my first ever digital course “Take Your Best Shot: Great Photos Made Simple” while in her program.

Another benefit to being in Anne’s mastermind program is that I’ve met so many talented, creative women business owners! We have all learned so much together!
